June Anne Hodak, 87, Independence, MO passed away May 12, 2009. Memorial services will be held at 2 pm, Sat., May 16, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; cremation. June was born March 15, 1922 in Omaha, NE to Stanley Stepanek and Sophia (Matcha) Stepanek. She attended
the University of Nebraska-Omaha where she met her future husband, Frank Hodak. She was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, the General Federation of Womens’ Clubs �" Nu Era and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was an expert Bridge player and taught many people to play the game.
June was preceded in death by her husband Frank W. Hodak in 2005; daughter Mary Kay Hodak in 1966; sister Betty Elder, brothers Stan Stepanek; Walter Stepanek, Robert Stepanek; and Edward Stepanek. She is survived by son Jim Hodak, Independence, MO; brother Jerry Stepanek, Omaha, NE; niece Kathy Gaume, Overland Park, KS; and many nieces and nephews.
