Armand D. Hodges, 81 of Grain Valley, MO, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 7, 2010 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m., Friday at the Riverside Cemetery in Warsaw, MO. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans. Armand was born February 17, 1929 in Kansas City, MO to William Clay and Dora Lee (Dewitt) Hodges. He had owned and operated Hodges Barber Shop in Independence for over 40 years before retiring in the early 1990’s. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy in WWII and Marine Corps as a medic during the Korean Conflict. He liked to party, sing and play guitar and organ, play golf and fish. He was a member of the American Legion Tirey J. Ford Post #21 and the VFW in Independence. He was married to Donna Bradshaw; she preceded him in death in 1997. Survivors include; a daughter, Tari Hodges and son-in-law John Long of Grain Valley, MO; a sister, Winn Walters of Dallas, TX.
