Magdalene V. Hoffman, 79, Independence, MO passed away peacefully, Saturday, July 16, 2011 at her home.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, July 22, 2011 at Bethel Baptist Church; 2406 S. 291 Hwy, Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM Friday at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund.
Magdalene was born April 22, 1932 near Kirksville, MO the daughter of John Thomas and Clara Etta (Athon) Weber. She was a graduate of Kirksville High School and earned her B.A. in home economics. Magdalene was retired from The Groves in 2006 as a CNA. She was attended Bethel Baptist Church where she was a member and taught Sunday school. Magdalene enjoyed sewing and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Elvin Hoffman in 2001; two sisters; three brothers and her parents.
Survivors included her daughters, Janet Leonard and husband Richard, Darlene Smith and husband David; grandchildren, Josh and Stephanie Leonard, and Melinda and Jenny Smith; sister Maxine Weber and additional nieces nephews and family.
