Jimmy R. Holden, 65, Blue Springs, MO
passed away Dec. 1, 2009. Services will be at 2 pm, Sat., Dec. 12, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055; interment at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
Jimmy was born Feb. 2, 1944 in Waynesville, MO. He was a welder by trade and retired as power plant operator from Independence Power & Light in 2002 after nearly twenty years there. Previously, he taught welding at Fort Osage Vo-Tech for ten years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge on Blue Ridge.
Jimmy is survived by his wife Dianna Holden, of the home; sons Jimmy R. Holden II and wife Shelley, Carter Lake, IA; Douglas A. Holden and wife Laela, Cameron, MO; brothers Wesley J. Holden, Independence, MO; Rick Holden, Greenwood, MO; sister Pam McGee, Forrest Lake, MO; brother Bobby Hawkins and wife April, Forsythe, MO and six grandchildren.
