Donna Houchins

Donna Rae Houchins, 67, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away Friday, October 15 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Donna was born June 27, 1943 to Wilbur and Eleanor (Bowles) Noland in Independence, MO. She graduated from William Chrisman High School and then worked several jobs before becoming a mother and a home daycare provider. Donna enjoyed ceramics and crocheting, but more than all, she loved her family. She will be missed for her big heart, positive attitude, and strong and determined nature by all who knew and loved her. Donna was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Serena Crayle Jones. She is survived by her son Curtis Clifford Houchins; granddaughter Olivia; sisters: Saundra Willing and husband Donald, Shirley Goodwin, Edie Carson and husband Bob, and Sue Stevens and husband Doug; three nieces; four nephews; many great and great-great nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. A visitation will be from 6-8:00 PM Tuesday, October 19 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence. Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday at the Chapel with burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery.
