James R. House, 82, Grain Valley, MO died March 6, 2008. Services will be 10 am, Thursday, March 13, at Speaks Suburban Chapel; interment at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Wed. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Oakland United Methodist Church.
James was born May 23, 1925 in Buckner, MO to Hal & Margaret House. He worked his family farm all of his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Philippines during WW II and a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church.
James was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Thomas House and Robert House. He is survived by daughter Christine Buttram and husband Phillip, Grain Valley, MO; granddaughter Amanda Purdom and husband Eric, Manhattan, KS; grandson Christopher Buttram, Lee’s Summit, MO; sister Wilma Mueller, Grain Valley, MO; and two great-granddaughters
