Shirley L. House, 79, of Independence, MO, passed away Thursday, August 03, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospital. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 7, 2006 at Noland Road Baptist Church, 4505 S. Noland Rd, Independence, MO 64055. Visitation will be 2-4:00 p.m. Sunday at the church. Cremation with interment at 3:00 p.m. in the Missouri State Veteran�s Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Noland Road Baptist Church, in honor of Shirley to the Wanda McNutt Cancer Fund. Shirley was born March 13, 1927 in Orrick, MO to Ashby W. and Ollie E. (Woods) Monger. She moved with her family to Kansas City, MO during her teenage years. She graduated from Northeast High School in 1945. Shirley married Glenn L. House on September 12, 1947. The majority of their married life was spent in Northeast Kansas City and then later in Independence. Mrs. House worked for the Kansas City School District for many years. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Glenn L. House of the home; daughter Marsha Streator and husband Jack of Independence, MO, Gale Whitehair and husband John T. of Abilene, KS, and son John House and wife Janet of Blue Springs, MO; brother Ashby W. Monger, Jr. and wife Huberta of Ashgrove, MO; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and many extended family members and special friends.
