Mary Howard

Mary J. Howard, 99 of Independence passed away Fri, Apr 11, 2008. Services will be 11:00 am, Tue., Apr 15, 2008 at the Carson- Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Indep. MO with the visitation being held one hour prior to the service. Burial in Md. Grove Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to Avila University. Mrs. Howard was born on Feb. 14, 1909 to John and Ida (Chadwick) Gaines in Jamison, MO and had lived in California before moving to Independence. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed visits from her family and watching TV. She was preceded in death by her husband Martin Howard in 1985. She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Beasley of Independence; Six grandchildren Carolyn Buckner, Marilyn Ellis, Charles McCollum, Charlyn Mackey, Janell Burton and Jerri Nye. Great grandchildren, James E. Nye III, Justin Nye, Cody Burton, Tyler Burton and several other grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and a great great great grandchild.
