Louise Howell, 89, Independence, Mo., passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at her home.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, August 3, 2009, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, Mo. Burial to follow at Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Restoration Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints, PO Box 2027, Independence, MO 64055.
Louise was born August 1, 1919, in Cameron, Mo., the daughter of Luther and Emma (Mauzey) Payne. She was part owner with her husband Jack Howell of Burton Howell Floor Covering from 1967 to 1976. Louise was a member of Restoration Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. She had a great love for church reunions and retreats. She was a member of the Laurel Club and various quilting clubs. Louise enjoyed fishing, cooking, traveling and her cats. She was a lady of great faith, and this showed in her actions towards others.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack L. Howell; brother, Carl Payne and her parents.
Survivors include her children Jacquelyn Howell of Buckner, Marilyn Danko and her husband Kenneth of Hughesville, and Woodrow Howell and his wife Marsha of Richmond; grandsons Robbie and James Chester and Paul Howell; two great grandsons, and her sisters Neatha Robinson of Richmond and Gayle Suydam of Independence.
