Waneta Howell

Waneta R. Howell, 90 Formerly of Buckner, Osceola and El Dorado Springs, MO, passed away, Saturday, August 23, 2008 at a nursing home in Grain Valley, MO. Waneta was born May 25, 1918 in Roscoe, MO the daughter, of John Trot and Gertie F. (Hopkins) Sims. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Buckner. She was married to Felix P. Howell in 1935 in Osceola, MO and together they had 5 children. Felix preceded her in death on January 16, 1972. Survivors include; 4 children, Lowell Howell of Sibley, MO, Carol Kendra of Drums, PA, Gordon Howell of Buckner, MO and Bernard Howell of Blue Springs, MO; 12 grandchildren and step grandchildren, many step great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, John Troy Sims, Mother and step father Gertie and Floyd Richmond, a half-sister Dorothy Belle Richmond, a son, Martin Howell and a great grandson, Jason Hillegas of Drum, PA. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at the Speaks Buckner Chapel. Visitation will precede the services at 9:00 until service time. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday at the El Dorado Springs Cemetery in El Dorado Springs, MO. Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Buckner.
