Dwight Hudson

Dwight L. Hudson, 71, Independence, MO died Sept. 17, 2018. Services will be 10 am, Sat., Sept. 22 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052; cremation. Visitation will begin at 9 am before the service at the chapel.
Dwight was born June 23, 1947 in Kansas City, KS. He retired from UPS as a supervisor in 2008. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a Chiefs fan and a collector of coins, die-cast cars and ball caps. He loved his family and cared for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren daily.
Dwight was preceded in death by granddaughter Gabrielle Peterman. He is survived by his wife of forty-five years Alice Hudson, of the home; son Jody Hudson, Independence, MO; daughter Paula Marie Massey, Independence, MO; daughter Michele Van Swearingen, Kansas City, MO; son Tobie Van Swearingen and wife Jeanie, Montana; brother George Hudson and wife Mary Jane, El Dorado Springs, MO; sister Connie; grandchildren Alora Hays, Miranda Peterman, Brandon Massey; great-grandchildren Isaiah, Kaprice, Kayden, Dallas and special nephew Robert Hudson.
