Barbara Jean Hufford, 69, Independence, MO passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Maywood Terrace Living Center.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, November 1, 2010 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5609 Norfleet Rd. Kansas City, MO. Burial to follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery.
Barbara was born August 19, 1941 in St. Joseph, MO the daughter of Benjamin and Imogene L. (Blanton) Abbott, Sr. She had served as a social worker at the former Charlie Parker Center. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Barbara was a devoted soap opera fan and enjoyed painting.
She was preceded in death by her husband Steve Hufford in 1993; sister, Carolyn Abbott; brothers, Ronald C. and Benjamin Abbott, Jr.
Survivors include her daughters; Rose Marie Sullivan and spouse Rena McKenzie of Independence; Victoria Jean Stella and husband James of Kansas City, KS; Cynthia Kay Sullivan of San Diego, CA; Susan Noel Gonzalez and husband Roman of Independence; son, Daniel James Sullivan and wife Rachel of Independence; 13 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Knight, Kathleen Shirley, Sheryl Helmich; brothers; Michael, Terrance, and Garold Abbott.
