Vicki Rae Hypes (Marcott)

Vicki Rae (Marcott) Hypes, 80 of Independence, MO sadly passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Cremation is planned with private family celebration at a later date. Vicki was born November 4, 1942 in Kansas City, MO to Raymond Marcott and Mary Eleanor Vest. She graduated from Central High School where she was a cheerleader, and member of the swim team. She studied at KC Ballet and was offered a try-out with the Rockette’s although her parents refused to let her go to New York. Vicki was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed tennis, golf and shelling on the beach. A true southern girl at heart she was able to spend joyful years living in Tennessee, Florida and Texas. Her great love was her family. She will be missed every day. Vicki is survived by; a son, Vincent Michael Passantino with whom she resided; a daughter, Marci Passantino; 2 grandchildren, Jessica Lakey and Jennifer Neely and 3 great grandchildren, Alexis, Aleah and Sebastian. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald D. Hypes in 2018, twin daughters, Lori Lynn and Mary Louise in 1963 and her parents, Raymond Marcott and Mary Eleanor Vest. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in their names to St. Jude's Children Hospital or Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
