Born Sept 6, 1949, Ida married the love of her life on Sept 11, 1967 and was a dedicated wife to Dennis Worley for over 30 years, until he passed away in 1998. She was a loving mother who went above and beyond for her children, Bruce Worley (Stacy), Jason Worley, and Denise Boyce (Matt). She was a proud Nana to her three grandsons, Parker Boyce, Ian Worley, and Garrett Boyce, always showing up to cheer them on, whatever the activity. She was a devoted daughter to William Norrie Allan (deceased) and Hazel Jardine Allan (deceased), sister to Pam Pintek (Mark) and Graham Allan (Belinda), daughter-in-law to Homer Worley (deceased) and Evelyn Worley (deceased), sister-in-law to Sandra (Ron) Childers (deceased), Cheryl Gondran, Connie (Walt) Williams (deceased), and Karen (Tim) LaMartina, aunt to many nieces, nephews, and great nieces/nephews, friend, and church goer. She volunteered her time to support many causes, including the local food pantry, and was a friend to those in need. She served as liturgist at Sugar Creek United Methodist Church and was steadfast in her dedication to their annual corned beef and cabbage dinners on St Patrick’s Day, lemonade and water stand during the Sugar Creek 4th of July Parade, ice cream socials, and fall ham and bean dinners that supported the church’s mission. Residing most of her life in Sugar Creek, Missouri, she lived a life of hard work and service.
Born in Fraserburgh, Scotland, she was a proud Scot from the start. After marrying Denny and moving to the States, she loved being an active member of the British club, Transatlantic Brides and Parents Association. Through this organization, she made many lifelong friends, including her dear friend Dorothy Halastik, and maintained her ties to home.
After her children were grown, she was able to enjoy lots of travel both with family and friends. Aside from trips “Home” to Great Britain, highlights of her travel included cruising the Caribbean with her dear friend, Lew Clark, seeing the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam with her son Bruce, his wife Stacy, and grandson Ian, and seeing the mountains in Colorado with Denny, her daughter Denise and husband Matt.
She had amazing pale blue eyes, a beautiful smile, and loved to share a laugh. She had a generous heart and was notorious for slipping “pizza fund” money to her grandsons. She was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
