Mary Inglish

Mary M. (Stephenson) Inglish, 98, of Independence, MO peacefully passed away Monday, June 21, 2010 surrounded by her family. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Speaks. Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday in New Hope Cemetery in Centertown, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mary was born April 4, 1912 at home in Holt County, MO to Ira Emery and Mary Isabell (Sipes) Stephenson, one of nine children. She was united in marriage to Cecil B. Inglish in 1929 and together shared 48 years of happiness before his death in 1977. Mrs. Inglish worked at Lake City Arsenal from 1942-1946, then returned to the farm in California, MO. In 1951 they moved to Independence, MO and she started working in industry and retail. Mary is survived by her daughter Carole Jones; grandchildren Nancy O’Neil, Diane Dove, Thomas, Randy and Steve Jones; step-grandchildren Duane, Donald and Sheilah Vaughn; numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Inglish; son Roger Inglish; grandson Bruce Inglish.
