Luther “Ray” Jackson, Jr., 60, of Sugar Creek, MO passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Kansas City Hospice House surrounded by his family. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO 64055. Cremation to follow with private interment. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Rd, Kansas City, MO 64145. Ray was born May 17, 1947 in Sun, West Virginia to Luther Ray and Ruth Louise (Armstrong) Jackson, Sr. He worked for Underground Services Co. LLC. Mr. Jackson loved his job, watching football and giving people a hard time! Most of all, he loved being with his grandsons. They were the light of his life. Ray was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary (Courtney) Jackson; sons Doug Jackson, Randy Jackson and wife Jeannette; grandsons Kyle, Drew, and Cody; his mother Louise Jackson and several sisters and brothers. Ray was preceded in death by his father; and by his sister Barbara Dixon.
