January 15, 1950 — July 30, 2010

Tommy M. Jackson, 60, of Grain Valley, MO passed away, Friday, July 30, 2010 at the Kansas City, VA Medical Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 6, 2010 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the chapel. Tommy was born January 15, 1950 in Independence, Mo to Paul David and Marie Catherine (Gibson) Jackson. He grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Northeast High School in 1968. He had worked at Montgomery Wards for over 14 years as a stockman/warehouse manager, GM as a manager on the bumper line, and Champs. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and coaching baseball. He proudly served in the US Army during Vietnam from 1970-71. He was a member of the D.A.V., the VFW post #0449 in Blue Springs, and a life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America. He was married Deborah (Stover) Jackson on April 16, 1973; she survives of the home. Other survivors include; a son, David Jackson and his wife Penny of Blue Springs, MO; 2 daughters, Amy Mathieson and her husband William and Melissa Jackson all of Blue Springs, MO; his mother, Marie Jackson of Independence, MO; a brother, Phillip D. Jackson and his wife Peggy of North Kansas City, MO and 6 grandchildren, Gage and Abby Jackson and Elizabeth, Kyle, Allison and Madalynn Mathieson.
