Walter “Ted” Jackson, 77, Blue Springs, MO passed away Sunday, February 14, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family.
Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO. Inurnment will follow at Blue Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Sycamore Hills Baptist Church, 15200 E. 39th St. Independence, MO 64055.
Ted was born May 26, 1932 in Creston, IA the son of Willis B. and Delcie D. (Keir) Jackson. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in the Korean War. Ted retired in 1989 from Bankers Life & Casualty. He was a member of Sycamore Hills Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing golf, gardening and he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ted was preceded in death by one sister; two brothers and his parents.
Survivors include his wife Remona Jackson; son, Samuel D. Jackson; daughters, Sharon L Jarvis; and Tina M. Clary and her husband Marshal; son, Walter D. Jackson and his wife Stephine; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister, Patricia Derwieler; and brothers Charles Jackson and Donnie Crigger.
