Carol Jacobs

Carol Sue Jacob, 70 of Independence, MO passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 at Truman Medical Center. Cremation is planned with a celebration of her life to be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Ponak’s Mexican Kitchen 2856 Southwest Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64108-3613. Donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or to the MS Society. Carol was born November 8, 1941 in Kansas City, KS to Aubra Payne and Rozetta (Holladay) Wilcox and has been a lifelong area resident. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker who also worked as an executive Assistant for Commercial Union Insurance for over 10 years until she retired in 1988. She enjoyed music and played the piano and was founder of a local MS support group. She is survived by her husband James Jacob of the home; 3 sons, Scott Smith of Springdale, AR, Todd Smith of Blue Springs, MO and Ronnie Smith of Independence, MO; a daughter, Kathy Yocum of Independence, MO and 17 grandchildren.
