Jacqueline Alexis Sartwell, 35, passed away on September 14, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on May 20, 1990, in Lincoln, Nebraska, Jacque brought light and warmth to those around her throughout her life.

Jacque attended Lincoln Public Schools and graduated in 2009 from Bryan Community Focus Program High School. From a young age, she demonstrated a deep sense of compassion and empathy—qualities that would define her career and personal life. She dedicated herself to caregiving for the elderly, first at assisted living facilities, then through Home Instead, and later as a private caregiver. One of the most meaningful chapters of her professional journey was caring for her paternal grandmother, Janice Sartwell. With love and devotion, Jacque helped ensure that Janice could remain in the comfort of her own home until her passing in January 2025.

At the heart of Jacque’s world were her two daughters, Avery Birchard and Aliyah Kate Marie, and her fiancé, Josh Carpenter. She found immense joy in creating a loving home for them—and for their beloved dogs, Cheeto and Chip. She embraced, and was embraced by, Josh's family - his mom Shelly, stepfather Greg, sister Ashley, and grandmother Sharon. Her greatest desire was to have all sides of her family together in harmony.

Her creativity knew no bounds; she believed that our purpose on earth is to create. Whether crafting jewelry from resin or designing custom clothing with her Cricut machine, Jacque poured her spirit into every project. Her artistic flair was not just a hobby but an extension of who she was—a vibrant soul who found beauty in self-expression.

Though not affiliated with any formal religious institution, Jacque was deeply spiritual. She read her Bible with care and conviction while also embracing meditation and positive affirmation as guiding forces in her life. Her spirituality was personal yet profound—a quiet strength that shaped how she moved through the world.

Jacque is lovingly remembered by her fiancé, Joshua Carpenter of Independence, Missouri; her daughters Avery Birchard and Aliyah Kate Marie of Independence; her mother Christine Kafonek of Lincoln, Nebraska; her father Joel Sartwell and stepmother Marva Sartwell of Columbia, Missouri; stepsister Laura Cooper and fiancé Michael Chang of New York City; grandmother Mary Britton of Lincoln; aunts Cassandra Britton of Lincoln and Julie Burman of Blue Springs, Missouri; uncle Terry Dockins of New Franklin, Missouri and cousins Brock Alleman of Grain Valley, Missouri and Rachel Burman of Kansas City.

She joins in rest her grandfathers, Wilbur Sartwell, William Britton, and Bill Dockins; and grandmothers, Janice Sartwell and Nora Dockins.

Jacque’s genuine kindness and radiant positivity left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her memory will continue to inspire love, creativity, and compassion in those whose lives she touched.

May Jacqueline’s memory bring comfort to all who carry it forward.
