Kody Lee Jasper passed away on October 7, 2011, in Justin, TX. Kody was born in Omaha, NE on August 18, 1982. In April of 1985, the family moved to Independence, MO, where Kody grew up and graduated from William Chrisman High School in 2001 and was a member of the River Blvd Baptist Church. In 2005, Kody moved to Ft. Worth, TX, and trained to become a Crane Mechanic at TSI – MI-Jack – Lanco Corp, working at the BNSF Intermodal Yard in Alliance, TX. Kody is survived by his mother, Jan, brothers Kevin Jasper and wife Amber, and Kyle Jasper and wife Jovonna, his nephews Corbin and Collin, his niece Anna, Grandmothers Mary Jasper and Edna Hawkins, step-mother Joyce Jasper, step-sister Amber and children, and many dear friends and close relatives. Kody loved playing and watching sports, spending time with his family, playing with his nephews and niece, and spending time with his friends. There was nothing more satisfying to Kody than helping a friend in need – he would do anything for the people he loved. Kody was a precious and beloved son, a cherished brother, the best of uncles, and a caring grandson. Most of all, Kody was a loyal friend to everyone who was lucky enough to have met and known him. Kody will be missed by many, and may we all find God's comfort and peace in knowing that Kody was carried in the loving arms of Jesus through the gates of Heaven, and is watching over us all. Kody was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Jasper, and grandfathers Edward Jasper and Norman Hawkins. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
