Jerry Allen Jefferies

March 16, 1934 — November 1, 2022

Jerry Allen Jefferies, 88, a resident of Independence, Missouri, passed on to join his family on Monday November 1, 2022. Jerry was the youngest of three boys born to Clarence and Gladys Jefferies of St. Joseph, Missouri. His mother called the boys her three jewels.

Jerry served in the Army during the early 1950's in Korea. Over the years, Jerry worked for Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha Nebraska, P.I.E Trucking in Kansas City, and retired from Jackson County working with the Independence Courts. Jerry enjoyed collecting guns, target practice and as a Shriner dressing up as a clown for parades and birthday parties. Jerry married Shirley McDonald in 1957, and is survived by his only child, daughter Shelley Jefferies Mullane, two grandsons Connor Mullane (Ashley) Collin Mullane (Mckayla) and great granddaughter Preslee Mullane.

Jerry had a sarcastic sense of humor that he passed on to me his daughter. He had a soft heart for dogs and would adopt or bring home strays. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Independence Animal Services. Checks payable to Truman Heartland Community Foundation 4200 Little Blue Parkway Suite 340; Independence, Missouri 64057.
