Jeffery Reeves Vaughan passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, in his hometown of Independence, Missouri. Born on October 31, 1960, Jeff graced this world with his presence for 65 remarkable years.
A graduate of William Chrisman High School, Jeff furthered his education by taking courses at Northwest in Maryville. He dedicated his career to working as a pipefitter for Local 533. His need to invent flourished throughout his life; he was a natural creator, constantly driven to invent and improve the world around him.
Beyond his professional life, Jeff possessed a free spirit complemented by loyalty and honesty. These qualities endeared him to many and left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him. His love for the outdoors was evident through his enjoyment of camping and exploring the wilderness. An Eagle Scout, he embodied the values of service and regard for the environment, displaying a passion for conservation and a genuine affection for all animals. Music played an integral role in Jeff's life. He was an avid collector of records and CDs, with a particular fondness for hard rock, especially when it was played loud.
Jeff's passing is preceded by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his sister, Jodie Vaughan. His legacy lives on through his parents, Joe and LaVonne Vaughan of Lee's Summit; his beloved daughters, Daisy Vaughan of Blue Springs and Daleann Fanning of Wellsville; his sisters, Michelle Crumbaugh (Stan) and Janell Anello (Joe); as well as two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
