Jelanie Jun Crystal (Shrout) Waters

Jelanie Jun Crystal (Shrout) Waters passed away unexpectedly on June 4, 2023.

Jelanie was born on November 29, 2022. 

She had more than her fair share of health issues and a congenital heart defect, of which there was no cure. Even though Jelanie only lived six months, her favorite place to be in the arms of her mother, and she spent most of her life in her loving embrace. She was a happy baby with a quick, alluring smile and brought great joy to her parents, grandparents, half-brothers, aunts, uncles, and cousins in her far too short time with them.

Jelanie is survived by her loving parents Amy B. Shrout, Dustin G. Waters, grandparents, Jun and Clint Shrout, Clarence G. Waters, Deborah J. Waters, and half-brothers, Austin, and Jackson.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 14, 2023 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39^th St. S, Independence, MO 64055.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Happy Bottoms, 303 W. 79^th St., Down Syndrome Innovations, 5916 Dearborn St., Mission, KS, or The National Down Syndrome Society (ndss.org.) in memory of Jelanie.
