Donna R. Jenkins, 76, of Independence, MO passed away peacefully at her home of 59 years on October 27th, 2015. A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00am Monday, November 2nd at Carson Speaks Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 10:00am at the chapel. Burial will be at Mt. Washington Cemetery, Independence, MO. Donna was born April 8, 1939 in Hardin, MO to Arthur James and Edith Adelene (Dickens) Blann. She was brought up by her beloved grandparents, Sarah and Elijah Dickens. Donna married R. Keith Jenkins on June 11, 1955 and together raised five children. They shared a love for bowling and enjoyed life with friends at ARMCO Leagues, VFW Post 1000, the American Legion, and Fraternal Order of Eagle. She especially enjoyed camping and fishing at Stockton Lake with her family and friends. After raising her family, she worked for Arrowhead Stadium for almost 15 years. Her family remembers her caring, helpful, and loving nature. Donna was preceded in death by daughter, Kim Renee Jenkins; son, Donald Keith Jenkins; and her husband of 47 years, Keith. Survivors include son, Mike Jenkins and wife Deanna of Wellington, MO; daughters, Kellea Heflin of Osage Beach, MO; Lori Jenkins; and Jessica Jenkins, both of Independence; sister, Lue Anne Durrell; eight grandchildren; and eleven great grandbabies who will miss her.
