Cheryl S. Jennings, 62, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Friday April 17, 2015 at 9am at her home at Gregory Ridge Living Center under the care of the staff at Gregory Ridge and Crossroads Hospice. Visitation will be Thursday April 23, 6pm - 8pm and Funeral Services will be Friday April 24, 10am - 12pm, both at East Independence Church of Christ 2020 South 291 Hwy, Independence, MO 64057. Burial will be at Mound Grove Cemetery 1818 N River Blvd, Independence, MO 64050. She was born Sunday May 18 11:56pm, 1952 at the small size of 3lbs, 1oz to Franklin and Leota Jennings. She attended East Independence Church of Christ until she moved into a women's group home in St Joseph, in the mid 1980's.During her working years, she worked as a waitress at Putsch's Cafeteria in Kansas City, and at IBS Industries in Independence (a disabled workshop). A good portion of her wages were spent taking her nephews (whom she claimed to be their second mother) to the movies at Englewood and the Square. Her passions in life were chocolate, Mickey Mouse, pop, music and playing games in particular bingo.
She was preceded in death by her Father Franklin on Aug 15, 1982, Brother Dan on September 19, 1988, Mother Leota on March 8, 2011. She is survived by her Sister in Law Judy Bookout and her Nephews: Ray and wife Teri, Jeff and wife Tammy, Darin and wife Linda, Kyle and wife Carrie.
