Jerry Raymond Williams

Jerry Raymond Williams, 81, of Independence, Missouri died November 02, 2025 at his home as he wished under care of Kansas City Hospice and his son David.

He was born August 28, 1944 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Mancil and Thelma Williams and grandson of Marie B. Rushing whom he loved dearly. Jerry graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1962 and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war.

Jerry was a Baptized Christian with Faith in Christ as his Savior. He retired from Ford Motor Company in Claycomo, Missouri where he worked in paint and as a weld inspector. He liked doing body work on cars and once he became unable to do that he began collecting antique and vintage toys. His entire life revolved around his two sons, taking them to auto shows, movies, concerts, auctions, antique hunting, shopping and for drives nowhere.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Survivors include two sons Douglas and David Williams of Independence, Missouri; two grandchildren and two Great-grandchildren; one brother Richard Williams of Independence, Missouri.

Jerry will be cremated and on the last day the ashes of the cremated just as the dust of the buried will be resurrected to life. Jerry is and will be missed dearly, he was the best father a son could have ever wanted. To suffer through what he did for decades he was the toughest, strongest and bravest man I have ever known. We argued, fought, screamed, laughed and cried together. At the time it seemed impossible but now that it's over with you want it back, even the really hard times.

Jerry would want to thank Kansas City Hospice, his nurse became part of our family who we would also argue, laugh and cry with. She was the first person to not look for any mistakes we'd make and criticize us for them and that took a while for us to get used to because that was not the norm. Others would stand back and watch waiting for you to mess up, she would stand beside you and help you and for that we are truly grateful, Thank you.
