Jewel Charlyne Hamilton was born March 18, 1930, in Florence, Missouri. She was a graduate of Buckner High School in 1947 and went on to Central Missouri to receive a teaching degree. She modeled for Patricia Stephens in Kansas City and taught in a one room schoolhouse. She married Robert Lee Hamilton on December 26, 1950, at the United Methodist Church in Buckner, Missouri. Then moved to San Antonio, Texas where Bob was an instructor for the Officer Training Base.
She obtained her cosmetology license and worked in San Antonio. She was the Vice President of Hamilton Oil Co. and Osage Communication in Buckner. She and Bob were married for 68 years.
She was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church of Buckner where she taught Sunday School, served as President of the UMW and was on the leadership board for many years. She was a member of a Bridge Club, Bunco Club and the Red Hat Roadrunners in Buckner.
She was always active with all her kids...attending athletic events and just being a great Mom.
She had a full wonderful life. Our memories will live on...we are better and wiser people for having known her. We are blessed with only one life; she lived her life nurturing and loving her family.
Charlyne is survived by her son, Russell Hamilton and Tina; her daughter, Kathleen Taylor and John; a granddaughter, Ashley Starr and Justin; a grandson, Christopher Hamilton and Brooke; four great grandchildren, Alyvia and Maclan Starr and Brantlee and Stanlee Hamilton; and two nephews, Randy and Steven Jones.
Mom fulfilled the purpose that God made for her. She can now be reunited with her love, our Dad.
