John Raymond Larson passed away on July 25, 2025, peacefully with his family by his side. John was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 30, 1948, to Raymond and Francis Larson.
John was a Processing Manager for 45 years with American Micro Company before retiring in 2013.
When John wasn’t grooving to his blues vinyl records or rock cd’s, he was watching a football or baseball game, solving crossword puzzles, meticulously cleaning his car, or off on an adventure with his wife Gloria Larson. Gloria and John loved visiting big cities, baseball stadiums, and getting out of the country. Their adventures took them from Quebec City to London, and everywhere in between.
John was a quietly brilliant man, who was kind and who cared about social justice, politics, history, and being a good human. His vibrant smile and unique giggle were contagious, and his subtle humor kept everyone on their toes. He didn’t say a lot but when he did everyone tuned in because his words were well thought out and impactful. He was a wise man and adored by his friends and family.
John was survived by his wife Gloria Larson and niece Cori Kauk, a small but mighty family. He was preceded by mother Francis Larson, Aunt Gloria Halsey, and Aunt Iva Cromley.
In honor of our beloved John please give him a cheer.
The next Royals home run is for you John!
Rest in Peace… You are forever in our hearts!
John loved animals and in lieu of flowers or gifts the family invites you to make a donation to Wayside Waifs Animal Shelter in Grandview.
