John (Jack) Elson Wiley of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on February 14, 2024. He was 88 years old. Jack was born on May 5, 1935 in Belding, Michigan to John and Ella Wiley. He is the oldest of 6 children, 5 brothers, and 1 sister. He grew up in Mt Pleasant, Michigan and graduated in 1954 from Mt Pleasant High School before attending Graceland University for 2 years. He returned to Mt Pleasant and finished his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Central Michigan University. In 1959 Jack married Alice L McCormick of Independence, Missouri. They were married 59 years before her death in 2018. Jack and Alice spent their first two years of marriage in Puerto Rico where Jack taught English to army inductees while Alice taught elementary school. Jack spent the next 31 years in ministry spanning 5 states. Jack loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, boating, hiking, and biking. He loved Jesus Christ and wanted to share the love of Jesus with everyone he encountered. He and Alice have 2 children - Greg Wiley (Natalie) of Overland Park, Kansas and Jan Healy (Brian) also of Overland Park, Kansas. They have 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson and a beloved grand dog. A visitation will be held on March 3, 2024 from 1 - 3pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel.
