Edwin "Ed" Johnson

Edwin "Ed� Johnson, 80, of Independence, MO, passed Saturday, December 31st at Carmel Hills Living Center. Memorial Services will be 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at the East 39th Street Community of Christ Church, 15006 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Cremation with interment in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Outreach International. Ed was born April 19, 1925 in Los Angeles, CA to Austeen G. and Millicent H. (Merchant) Johnson. Mr. Johnson proudly served in the Navy during WWII in the South Pacific Theater. He was a volunteer at heart and served his church, Hope House, Outreach International, at The Groves and for SASH. Ed was known for his sense of humor and always having a joke or story to tell. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of 58 years, Audrey "Bobbie� (Russell) Johnson of the home; sons and daughters-in-law Christopher Alan and Sharon Johnson, Dale Russell and Peggy Johnson, Paul Curtis and Gail Johnson; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
