Charles Jones

Charles Jones, 70, of Buckner, MO passed away August 15, 2008 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. A visitation will take place from 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. The service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at the chapel with burial to follow at Buckner Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation. Charles was born February 8, 1938 to Vern and Lenora (Burns) Jones. He graduated from Fort Osage High School. Charles worked for 32 years at Armco Steel, then 10 years for the City of Buckner and most recently worked part-time for 3 years at Classic Car Wash in Independence, MO. He was an Independence York Rite Mason, a member of the Ararat Shrine, the Buckner Lodge and member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Charles was preceded in death by his father; and two children, Patrick Rance in 1974 and Dana Patton in 2002. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean Jones; two sons, Mikel Jones and David Jones and wife Chris; mother, Sally Jones; three brothers, Richard, Mike and Kenny Jones; one sister, Carolyn Page; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
