Josephine Jones

Josephine Honore Jones, 93 of Independence, MO passed away, Sunday, December 28, 2008 at Independence Manor Care. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. The family will greet friends from 3:00 p.m., until service time Wednesday at the chapel. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation. Josephine was born March 12, 1915 in Kansas City, MO to James Oliver and Elizabeth (Lemme) Hamlin. She worked for National Bellas-Hess for a number of years. She had also worked and volunteered for the American Red Cross, Don Bosco Center, the Garrison Center and was an active member in the deaf community. She enjoyed life, bowling and being active. She was a member of Sheffield Family Life Center and was a member of H.A.A.D. She is survived by; 2 daughters, Margaret Rittermeyer and Betty Brown of Kansas City, MO; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 grandsons, Christopher Jones, Anthony Brown, Jr. and a great grandson Christopher Brown.
