Leland Jones

Leland Jones, 84, Lee’s Summit, MO passed away Aug. 25, 2009. Visitation from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at St. Matthew the Apostle, KC, MO. Burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Leland was born July 25, 1925 in Auburn, Nebraska to Charles and Mary (Burger) Jones. He retired from Greyhound Bus Line in 1986, after 30 years of service, where he served as a driver and supervisor. He was veteran of the United States Army, serving in WWII. Leland was passionate about his church, golfing, geneology, but most of all his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Amy Jones; his loving children, Teresa, Chris, Steve, James, Gerald, Greg, Amy, Donna, Mary, Mark and Leland II; 34 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
