Joyce Joan Deffenbaugh, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025. She was born on February 18, 1938, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Charles and Kathleen Harmon. Joyce was raised in Kansas City and later married the love of her life, Harry Deffenbaugh, in Miami, Oklahoma, on December 15, 1956.
Joyce was a devoted wife, loving mother, and dedicated homemaker. Together, she and Harry raised five children and built a life centered around family. They spent 16 years living in Tucson, Arizona, where they especially enjoyed traveling throughout the Southwest, taking in the beauty of the desert landscapes and creating lasting memories together.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Harry Deffenbaugh; her parents, Charles and Kathleen Harmon; and her siblings.
She is lovingly remembered by her five children: Terry (Caroline) Deffenbaugh, Diana (Roger) Rance, Kenneth Deffenbaugh, Michael (Roberta) Deffenbaugh, and Shelly (Philip) Leen. She also leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren: Heather (Ramsey) Buell, David (Kelly Ann) Deffenbaugh, Derek (Kathy) Rance, Joanna (Eric) Brown, Anthony (Valerie) Deffenbaugh, Aimee (Clinton) Graves, Joshua Leen, Caleb (Amanda) Leen, and Kaitlyn Leen. Joyce was further blessed with fifteen great-grandchildren, who brought her great joy. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
