Joyce Schrankler, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2024, in Blue Springs, Missouri, surrounded by the love she so freely gave throughout her remarkable life. Born on April 3, 1931, in Odessa, Missouri, Joyce was a true embodiment of joy, warmth, and selflessness.
Joyce graduated from Sweet Springs High School, laying the foundation for a life filled with dedication and hard work. She launched her professional journey as an aggregate inspector for the Missouri Department of Transportation, where her keen eye for detail and strong work ethic shone brightly. After retiring, Joyce found her calling once again, working for over 20 years as a teacher's assistant at Prime Time in the Blue Springs School District. Her heart was filled with love for her students, whom she affectionately referred to as her kiddos. She made a difference in their lives with her nurturing nature and infectious enthusiasm, instilling a love for learning that will forever resonate in the halls they shared.
Joyce was known for her playful spirit, a true prankster who loved nothing more than a good practical joke to lighten the mood. Her vibrant personality and ability to bring smiles to those around her were a testament to her loving heart. Always putting people first, Joyce exemplified what it meant to be selfless and caring. Her family and friends knew her as a go-getter, someone who faced each day with determination and a twinkle in her eye.
Joyce cherished her family above all else. She is survived by her beloved sons, David (Jeannie) Schrankler, Bryan (Norma) Schrankler; seven adoring grandchildren; and five treasured great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. The laughter and love they shared created countless memories that will live on in their hearts. She also leaves behind extended family and friends who were touched by her kindness and zest for life.
Though Joyce has reunited with her late husband, Robert Schrankler; parents, Russell E. and Jennie Grace (Campbell) Kite; and brother, Russell Kite, her spirit remains woven into the fabric of those she loved. Her legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support will continue to inspire all who had the honor of knowing her.
As we reflect on the life of Joyce Schrankler, we celebrate a woman who embraced every moment with warmth and humor.
