Judith Ann
Banks
February 17, 1937 – March 5, 2026
Judith Ann Banks, lovingly known as Judy, left this world on March 5, 2026, in Blue Springs, Missouri, surrounded by her family. Born on February 17, 1937, in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, her family later moved to Kansas City. Judy graduated from Central High School in 1955, and soon after, she married her husband, Scottie Eugene Banks, on March 1, 1957.
As a devoted homemaker, Judy dedicated her life to caring for her family. She loved gardening . as well as floral arranging, painting, rug hooking, and quilting, each craft reflecting her creativity and talents. Her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother brought her immense joy, and she loved spending time with all of them.
Judy was a lifetime member of the Community of Christ. She also proudly served as the former President of the Independence Young Matrons and contributed her time and care to the Questers, preserving and caring for the Bingham Wagner House.
Judy is survived by her cherished daughters, Lynn (Greg) Andrews, and LeeAnn (Jon) Lewis, who continue her legacy of love. Her grandchildren, Haylee (Justin) Walker, Connor Andrews, and Jillian Lewis, along with her great-grandchildren, Gemma Lee Walker and Whit Walker, will carry forward the values she instilled in them. Judy also leaves behind her dear sister, Linda DeHart, whose bond was a source of strength throughout their lives.
Though Judy is preceded in death by her husband, Scottie, her parents, Damon and Rose Hepple, and sister, Betsy Adkins, she will forever live in the hearts of those she touched. Her proudest accomplishment was, without a doubt, her family, who will remember her as witty, determined, and an inspiration to create and care.
A visitation will take place on March 23, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service celebrating her life at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri. She will be remembered, missed, and honored for the endless love she shared and the legacy she leaves behind.
