Rosemarie Russo Jungck Leslie, 81, of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, June 26 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 PM Wednesday, June 30 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 PM Thursday, July 1 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 911 E. Missouri Ave., Kansas City, MO. Ro was born Aug. 6, 1928 to Sam and Anna (Dimeo) Russo in Kansas City, MO. She grew up attending the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with a strong faith in God. In 1954 she married Ralph Jungck and moved to Independence. Together they raised two children. Following Ralph’s passing in 1974, Ro worked as a waitress at Tolly’s Italian Restaurant. She married J.C. Leslie in 1983, and briefly moved to Florida, but returned to the area. She always put things in God’s hands and didn’t sweat the small stuff, lending to her positive and jolly attitude. Ro is survived by her daughter Edith Jungck and fiancé Rick Roark; sisters Margie Keller and Virginia Stone; sister-in-laws Virginia Russo and Alvina Russo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and many life-long neighbors and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Anna Russo; first husband Ralph Jungck; second husband J.C. Leslie; beloved son Lawrence Jungck in 1978; brothers John Russo and Gerald Russo; brother-in-law Stephen Stone; and dear friend Lucille Balano. The family gives special thanks to Rose’s caregiver, Sheryl Cole, for her kindness and patience.
