Brian Kane

Brian Gerard Kane, 93, of Kansas City, MO passed away Monday, September 28, 2009 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2009 at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, 8001 Longview Rd., Kansas City, MO 64134. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2009 at the church where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the church, Juvenile Diabetes Association or the Macular Degeneration Foundation. Burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Brian was born July 7, 1916 in Fostoria, OH to John and Eleanor (Mahoney) Kane and then raised by his mother Susan Kane. He proudly served in both the U.S. Air Force as well as the Army. Brian was very proud of his acting talent and success in sales. His second retirement came as Republican Director of the Kansas City Board of Election Commissioners. Mr. Kane was a founding member of St. Matthew the Apostle and had most recently attended St. Therese Catholic Church. Brian is survived by his wife Dolores (Mills) Kane; daughter Karen White and husband Ronald; sons Kevin Kane, Terry Kane; step-children Paul, Kevin, Brian, Stephen Angelakos, Melodi Lowe and their spouses; four grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Jean (Saliers) Kane; daughter Kathleen Ann Kane; two brothers and one sister.
