Ellis Loren Keesee, 79, of Independence, MO, passed away Friday, February 27, 2015. A private memorial celebration will be held by the family at a later time. Inurnment will be in Urbana, MO.
Loren was born September 21, 1935 in Urbana, MO as one of five children to Alfred and Bessie E. (Hodges) Keesee. He attended Walkter Elementary and after the family moved to Independence in 1941; he attended William Chrisman High School. Loren married Patricia A. (Womacks) on September 18, 1953 and together they had four boys. He worked in construction most of his life. He was an operator in 101 Union for 41 years before retiring in 1997. Outside of work he enjoyed fishing for crappie, traveling, and camping in the great outdoors. He also enjoyed wood carving, his CB Radio (handle, dandy Dan), and collecting oil lamps. Loren was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Eagles Club. His family remembers him as humorous and hard working. He is loved and will be missed.
Loren is survived by sons, Ronald G. Keesee (Carolyn) of Independence, MO; John R. Keesee (Penny) of Independence, MO; grandchildren, Michael, Angie, and Jackie; three great grandchildren; and brother, Vernon D. Keesee. He was preceded in death by three wives, Patricia in 1995; Yvette L. in 2000 and Wanda E. in 2014; sons, David and James; brothers, Roy and Kenneth; and sisters, Evelyn Butler and Helen Bushnell.
