Helen J. Kelley, 88, Independence, MO passed away Aug. 25, 2008. Memorial services will be at 7 pm, Thursday, Aug. 28 at College Park Community of Christ 1021 W. College, Independence, MO. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 5:30 pm at the church. A private committal service will be held at Mound Grove Cemetery.
Helen was born June 9, 1920 in Minneapolis, MN. She married Wendell Kelley on Sept. 25, 1942. She owned Kidz Korner, a children’s clothing store in Independence for ten years until her retirement in 2003. She was an Elder at College Park Community of Christ.
Helen is survived by her husband of sixty-six years Wendell Kelley, of the home; daughters Jeanne Francis and husband Ward; Susan Wiemann; Carolyn Bailey and husband Bruce, all of Independence, MO; sister Jay Elvin, Apple Valley, MN; grandchildren Joel Francis, Steven Bailey, Julia Parris, Kevin Wiemann, Katie Bailey, Timothy Bailey, Brian Wiemann; and great-granddaughter Shelby Bailey.
