Kelley Lorraine Mead

Kelley Lorraine Mead, age 64, of Buckner, Missouri, passed away on June 18th, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Kelley was born on December 13th, 1961 in Independence, Missouri to Lonzo Neil Simmons and Billie Simmons. She lived a life defined by love, compassion, and dedication to her family and friends. Her kindness, strength, and caring spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

Kelley was preceded in death by her father, Lonzo Neil Simmons. Kelley is survived by her loving partner, John Engeman; her daughter, Brenna Mead and her partner, Joe Fitzgerald; her son, Andrew Mead and his wife, Katherine Mead; her stepchildren, Bryce Engeman and his wife, Raquel Engeman, and Brooke Bandera and her husband, Dominic Bandera; her cherished grandchildren, Macy, Knox, Atlas, Stella, Bodie, Sloane, and Orion; her mother, Billie Simmons; and her sister, Robyn Burton. She is also survived by many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who she considered family.

Kelley enjoyed camping with the “Hill Gang”, riding her 4-wheeler, hosting gatherings, cooking, and crafting. She created beautiful, extremely detailed celebration cards, junk journals, and advent calendars. She was an avid, lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan. Kelley ran her own paramedical business, Heartland Paramedical, until her retirement in 2023. Her legacy of adventure, hard work, devotion, and resilience will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family. Details will be provided later. 

The family would like to express their immense gratitude to all who provided care, support, and friendship to Kelley throughout her life.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
