Sherry Leigh Kendall, age 46, passed away at her home on August 11, 2015.
Family will greet friends on Friday, August 14, from 6-8pm, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. in Independence. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 10:00am, at Speaks Suburban Chapel. She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Sherry was born on April 25, 1969, to David and Donna (Dobson) Kendall. She graduated in the class of 1987 from Truman High School, and later went on to pursue accounting at Draughon’s Business School. She worked for Independence Regional Hospital in medical records and often volunteered her time with First Baptist Church. She was a member of Fun & Crafts, a group that made caps for newborns and carriers for those with walkers, as well as Greater KC Lace Guild. Her passion was tatting and counted cross-stitching – she had the patience and the talent to make beautiful works of art.
She will be dearly missed by her family: parents, David and Donna Kendall; sisters, Denise (Ron) Russell and Sarah (Loren) Perriman; nieces, Katherine (Steve) Christensen, Abigael (John) Xavier, and Lauren Grace Perriman; grandmother, Dorothy Dobson; and many uncles, aunts, nephews, cousins, great-aunts, great-uncles, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Hubert and Louise Kendall and her maternal grandfather, Virgil Dobson.
In lieu of flowers, kindly make contributions to First Baptist Church or the American Lung Association in honor of Sherry.
