Charlene R. “Tessy” Kennedy-Oconner, 49, Higginsville, MO passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Lafayette Regional Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA �" American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Tessy was born May 12, 1959 in San Jose, CA the daughter of Charles William and Rosemary Gail (Swanigan) Bond. She was an ordained Pastor. She was a professional singer and sang under the name Tessy Bleu. She enjoyed horseback riding, her 6 dogs and especially spending time with her family.
Survivors include her mother, Rosemary Gail Deras of Kansas City, KS; sisters, Kelly O. Kennedy of Sibley, MO and Christine Jackson of Texas; brothers Michael Bond of Lenexa, KS and Shawn Bond of Independence, MO. Children of her heart, Jennifer, Tessa and Anthony; grandchildren of her heart, Ashylnn, Paige, Drake and Shaylee. Numerous nieces and nephews and her fiancé, Gus Young of Higginsville, MO.
She was preceded in death by her father Charles W. Bond; sister Kathleen Mead; brother Patrick Kennedy and her maternal grandparents who adopted her, Robert and Bessie Kennedy.
