Ralph C. Kennedy, 82, Independence, MO passed away May 3, 2015. Memorial services will be 5:30 pm, Thursday, May 7 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055; cremation. Visitation will begin at 4 pm before the service at the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Ducks Unlimited Inc., One Waterfowl Way, Memphis, Tennessee, USA 38120. Ralph was born Feb. 16, 1933 in Murphysboro, IL. He served four years in the U.S. Navy before earning his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Missouri at Rolla. He began working for the F.A.A. as a civil engineer in 1958 until he retired in the 1980’s. He was a longtime member of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church where he served on the church council. He enjoyed duck hunting, trout fishing and was a huge sports fan. Ralph is survived by his wife Mary Leah Kennedy, of the home; sons Josh Kennedy and wife Delores, Kansas City, MO; Sam Kennedy and wife Tina, Atlanta, GA; granddaughters Alaina Davis and husband Brett; Andrea Kennedy; Emily Kennedy, all of Independence, MO; Tara Jackson; Lyndsay Kennedy, both of Atlanta, GA; grandsons Andrew Cerrone and wife Meredith, Liberty, MO; John Cerrone, Kansas City, MO; great-grandchildren Clayton, Leah, McKenna and Hazel.
