Kenneth “Buddy” Dwayne Johnson, 65, of Independence, MO, passed away on November 6, 2025, surrounded by loving family and friends.
Buddy was born October 20, 1960 in Marshall, MO, the son of Kenneth M. Johnson and Janet K. (Riley) Johnson.
Buddy especially loved watching and going to Kansas City Chiefs and Royals games and Nascar races. He enjoyed the outdoors including fishing, helping with chores and cooking, especially taste testing. Most of all, he loved hanging out with his friends and family.
Remaining to cherish Buddy’s memory are brother Shane Johnson, and wife Sherri; sister, Sarah (Johnson) Melton and husband Jamie; nieces and nephews, Brittany Noriega, Jared Johnson, Blake Melton & Colton Melton; and many friends and staff that cared for Buddy throughout the years.
Preceding Buddy in death are parents, Kenneth M. Johnson and Janet K. (Riley) Johnson.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Mike Onka Community Hall (William Henry Harrison Park, 11520 Putnam St. Sugar Creek, MO. 64054). The celebration will be from 9am to 10am followed by brunch leaving at 11am for graveside services in Marshall Mo. A Graveside Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall, MO.
