Kenneth Allen Heermann, of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully on February 23rd, 2026. He was born on October 6th, 1948 to Wilfred and Betty (Wehking) Heermann in Higginsville, Missouri. He was a Vietnam veteran and a member of the U.S. Navy as a yeoman on the USS Vernon County (LST-1161.) Following his service in the U.S. Navy, he began his career at ADM Milling company. His work ethic led him to finish his career as a commodities trader in the agricultural industry. He was married to Becky for 53 years and shared 2 beautiful daughters, Ashley and Jennifer. Kenny was a dedicated volunteer at Messiah Lutheran Church for 25 years. He supported his daughter’s extracurricular activities at Messiah Lutheran and through IYAA and AAU. He was a handyman who could fix anything. He loved golf, coffee and gravitated to dogs over people. He was a talented woodworker and later mastered the skill of wood turning and wood carving. Kenny and Becky were season ticket holders of KC Mavericks hockey since the inception in 2009 to show their support. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Betty Heermann. He is survived by his wife, Becky (Merritt) Heermann; daughters Ashley (Heermann) Harding and Jennifer; and 6 granddaughters Lauren, Claire, Addison, Sophie, Olivia and Emma. Memorial Services will be held at the Speaks Suburban Chapel on Thursday March 5th, 2026. Visitation at 10:00 am, followed by the service at 11:00 am. Inurnment will be at 2:00 pm at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
