Roy Dennis Kennon, 70, Independence, MO passed away Friday, March 9, 2012.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Roy was born June 24, 1941 in Independence, MO the son of Marvin O. and Edith A. (Winslow) Kennon. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Roy retired as a finance manager and continued to work in small home construction and remodeling projects for family and friends. He was a member of the Community of Christ Congregation. Roy enjoyed woodworking, and being outdoors hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Aileen Vermaas, Virginia Keith, Reta Badder and Joy Willoughby; and his parents.
Survivors include his loving wife Mary G. Kennon of 48 years; brother, Delano Kennon and wife Mary Sue; brother in law, Chester Vermaas; and numerous nieces, nephews and family.
