Jennifer Eileen Keown, 28 of Independence, MO, passed away, Sunday, February 17, 2008 from injuries received in a car accident in Independence, MO. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel followed by cremation. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at the chapel. Donations may be made to the Tyler and Mason Keown Education Fund c/o Commerce Bank & Trust 300 N. Osage Independence, MO 64050. Jennifer was born February 22, 1979 in Thurmont, MD to David Bankard and Jane Eyler. She spent her early life in Maryland and graduated from high school there and had moved to Independence in 2001. She enjoyed NASCAR, music, reading, attending her son’s sporting events and volunteering at the Sunshine Center with her young son, Mason. She had worked in food service for The Fountains for the past 2 years. She was married to John Keown, II on May 26, 2001, he survives of the home. Other survivors include; 2 sons, Tyler Benjamin Keown and Mason William Keown of the home; her father, David Bankard of Washington, DC; her mother, Jane Eyler of Thurmont, MD; he mother and father-in-law, John and Mary Keown of Independence, MO, sister-in-law, Marsha Keown and Dustin Saterfiel of Independence, MO.
