John William Keown

John William Keown, 63, of Independence, MO passed away on November 15, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Services will be 10am Friday, November 20, 2015 at the Chapel. Burial will take place in Mound Grove Cemetery. John was born on July 7, 1952 in Independence, MO to Harold and Mildred (Dunfee) Keown. He was a graduate from Fort Osage High School. John met the love of his life at a car show in Grandview, together they shared and love of cars and 41 years of marriage. John along with his brothers spent countless hours restoring Model T Cars, but was always a Chevy man at heart. Sundays were reserved for his favorite sport, NACAR, and following his favorite racing family, The Earnhardts. Survivors include; wife Mary Keown, daughter Marsha Keown (Dustin Saterfiel); son Johnny Keown; sister Kathy Firkins; brothers Roy Keown, Steven Keown, and Kenny Keown; grandchildren Tyler and Mason Keown; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
